Deadlines and Other Important Information:

The Financial Aid Office will use your "dmail" account to notify you of important financial aid/scholarship information.
Be sure to check for notification of:
- Award status
- Missing items which might be holding up your award
- Application deadlines
PELL GRANT LIFETIME LIMIT - In December 2011, President Obama signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012 (Public Law 112-74). This law has significantly impacted the Pell Grant Program. Beginning in Fall semester 2012, students are now limited to 12 full time semesters (or 6 full years) of Pell Grant eligibility during their lifetime. This change affects all students regardless of when or where they received their first BEOG or Pell Grant. Students that received a Pell Grant in the academic year 2011-2012 and had already used their 6 full years of their Pell Grant eligibility will no longer be eligible to receive a Pell Grant starting Fall semester 2012. If you have attended 12 or more semesters as a full-time student or the equivalent and have received BEOG or Pell grants funds for a total of 6 years of full eligibility, you will not be eligible for Pell grant funds beginning the 2012 Fall semester.

Repeat Courses - Per federal regulation, federal financial aid may not be used to pay for more than one repeat of a previously passed course (class) in which you received a grade A through D-. This rule became effective July 1, 2011. (Example - A student takes Math 1010 and receives financial aid for the course; the student gets a grade of D. The student takes the course again, and receives financial aid again; this time the grade received is a C-. If the student wants to take the course yet again in order to improve the grade, he or she would NOT be able to receive financial aid again for this course. PLEASE NOTE: this student would be enrolled for 12 credit hours but will have Pell grant money disbursed for only 9 credit hours). There are NO exceptions to this federal rule.
