PROBLEMS REGISTERING FOR CLASSES?

SYMPTOM SOLUTION
I can't login! You need to enter the correct Student ID number and PIN (password).  Call (435) 652-7708 or stop by the Registration Office (2nd Floor, Student Services Center).  Another reason may  be that you are not admitted yet.  If you have completed all the admissions requirements, please do so.
The computer says that I have  "HOLD"! There are various registration holds which are used to get a student's attention.  Here are the most common:
  • Orientation Hold - You are a new freshman and haven't attended the required Orientation session.  Once you attend, the hold is released.  If you have attended and still have a hold, call (435) 652-7690.
  • Past Due Balance - If you have money from a previous semester, or have a parking or library fine, you will not be able to register until this is taken care of.  Contact the Cashier's Office for additional details (435) 652-7605.
  • For other types of holds, please call the Registrars Office for assistance (435) 652-7708.
I am blocked from taking a class! There are different types of course restrictions in place to insure that a student is prepared to take a given class:
  • Prerequisites - Some courses require that you have taken other courses before you register, so that you will have a better chance at passing the course.
  • Corequisites - Some courses require that you also register for other courses at the same time (i.e. labs).
  • Instructor signature - Some courses require an instructor's signature.

If you feel that you have met the prerequisite, please contact the registrars office for verification.  If they cannot verify that you took the course, you will need to get the appropriate Department Chair's signature to register for the class.   If you took the prerequisite at another school, contact the transcript evaluator to see if the course has been articulated to a Dixie course (435) 652-7705.

I'm trying to register online and it's the 4th day of the term. You are not allowed to register online after the 3rd day of classes.  The reason for this is that an instructor's signature is needed on an "Add Card" after the 3rd day.  Please pick up an Add Card at the Registrars Office.
There is an error message that says "System Unavailable" Please contact the Registrars Office (435) 652-7708, because the online system has just died and needs to be brought back to life.
I don't know what to register for. Please contact the advisement office (652-7690) or check out the appropriate program requirements.
