HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS
We appreciate your interest in Dixie State
College. Although you still have a couple of years left in
high school, it's not too early to be thinking about college.
So here are just a few pointers as you contemplate your future:
- Learn
about yourself. What do you like to do? What are
your interests? Your likes and dislikes? If
possible, take classes in those areas and see if something
"clicks." If nothing comes to mind, don't stress about it.
You have plenty of time to figure out what you want to be when
you grow up. Many "grown ups" still haven't figured that
out yet.
- Find a balance between work and play.
High school can be one of the funnest times of your life, but
don't forget about your studies either. The grades you are
now earning, and the tests you will be taking (i.e. ACT) are
used by colleges and universities to award scholarships.
Also, the work ethic you are establishing will carry with you
and will have a huge impact on your future college and work
career.
- Take the ACT (or SAT) test.
Also make sure to prepare as best you can for it. You'd be
surprised how these scores can come back to haunt you (or help
you) in the future. Many colleges use them for scholarship
awarding, and also for placement into the appropriate college
class. Of course you can take these tests over, but why
not give them your best shot? There are numerous test
preparation books --- or just do a "google search" to find many
online sources.
- Start thinking about where you would
like to attend college. Whether you choose Dixie or
another school, you will not regret your decision to further
your education. We'd love to help you find out if DSC
might be a good fit for you, so please keep us in mind as you
begin investigating colleges, and let us take you on a campus
tour.
- By filling out
this form, we will begin sending you appropriate information
about Dixie State College at the appropriate times.
- Good Luck to you as you complete your
high school career!

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
Well you've made it! Congratulations on
making it to your senior year! We appreciate your interest in
Dixie State College, and hope that you will consider attending
Dixie, whether you live 1000 miles away or just a few blocks away.
If you live close by, it's easy to discount the "local college" or
think that you are somehow wimping out by not leaving town. If
these are your thoughts, please consider why some students travel
thousands of miles to attend Dixie, and check out these
Top 10 Reasons
for attending Dixie.
Other points to consider:
- Let us take you on a
campus tour.
We'd love to show you around and answer any questions you may
have.
- Get to know Dixie better by surfing our
pages. Check out
explore.dixie.edu
- Once you decide to attend Dixie, apply
for
admission online.
- Have your high school send us your
transcripts, preferably after your first quarter senior grades
have been posted.
- If you have not taken the ACT (or SAT),
please do so and indicate that you want Dixie to receive your
scores.
- Have you taken any concurrent enrollment
courses? If not at Dixie, then please contact the college
which gave you credit and have them send us a copy of your
transcripts.
That's it for now. We wish you the best
of luck as you complete your high school career!
