09/30/2011 - Dixie State College theatre department faculty member Jan Hunsaker was recently presented with a "Hall of Fame Award" for her outstanding service in the field of theatre education by the National Educational Theatre Association (NETA) at the organization's annual conference in Chicago, Ill. Hunsaker was one of five national recipients of the prestigious honor.

09/27/2011 - Dixie State College will hold its first President's Colleagues of DSC meeting of the College's 2011-12 Centennial academic year on Monday, Oct. 3, at 12 noon, inside the Sears Art Museum Gallery at the DSC Eccles Fine Arts Center. Dixie State ROTC to Host Zumba Workout Fundraiser Sept. 30th
09/22/2011 - Dixie State College's Army ROTC program will hold a special Zumba workout fundraising event on Friday, Sept. 30th, from 6-8 p.m., in the DSC Old Gym. Cost of the event is $5, with proceeds going to fund ROTC activities.

Dixie State College to Open New Health and Wellness Center Oct. 17
09/20/2011 - Dixie State College will open its Health and Wellness Center in a new and larger facility Friday, Sept. 30th with an Open House from 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m. The new center, located just off campus at 34 North 600 East, will be open to serve the campus community weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dixie State Receives Regent Approval for New Criminal Justice Degree and Several Emphases Programs
09/16/2011 - Dixie State College of Utah Friday received Utah State Board of Regents approval to offer a new four-year degree program in criminal justice at the USBR meeting held on the DSC campus. The addition of the new baccalaureate degree, along with several emphases programs green-lighted Friday, continues the College's progression toward fulfilling its mission to offer core, foundational and high demand educational opportunities consistent with four-year colleges.

Dixie State College Professor Releases New Book
09/14/2011 - Acclaimed film director Andrew V. McLaglen is the subject of a new book by Stephen B. Armstrong, an associate professor of English at Dixie State College of Utah. Titled "Andrew V. McLaglen: The Life and Hollywood Career" (McFarland & Co., 2011), the book is the first of its sort, providing readers with a comprehensive survey of McLaglen's experiences in the movies, television and the theatre.

DSC Sears Gallery Presents "Long May You Run" Exhibit
09/12/2011 - The Sears Art Museum Gallery at the Dixie State College of Utah Dolores Dore' Eccles Fine Arts Center is presenting a third tier exhibit entitled "Long May You Run," featuring a display of photography taken by Anna Oakden, ceramic pieces created by DSC graduate Brady Richardson, and a collection of vintage car parts made into art by DSC alum Dan Whalen.

DSC Symphony Orchestra Opens 2011-12 Season with Annual Pops in Pine Valley Concert Sept. 24th
09/12/2011 - The Dixie State College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Paul Abegg, will open its 2011-12 season with its Third-Annual Pops in Pine Valley Concert, performed at the Historic Pine Valley LDS Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. This special outdoor concert is free and open to the public to attend.

Dixie State College Army ROTC to Perform Special Flag Retirement Ceremony September 11
09/02/2011 - The Dixie State College Army ROTC will perform a formal flag retirement ceremony on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 5 p.m., at the DSC Eccles Fine Arts Center. All DSC students, faculty and staff, alumni and the community are invited to attend. In addition, the public is invited to bring flags to the ceremony for proper disposal by the ROTC unit.
