Representatives of State Bank of Southern Utah visited the Dixie State College campus Monday and presented College administrators a generous scholarship gift to benefit DSC students for this upcoming academic year. SBSU executive vice president Kim Christensen and assistant vice president Jimi Kestin presented a check to DSC Vice President of Advancement Christina Schultz Monday morning.

"We are very grateful to State Bank of Southern Utah for their generous support of Dixie State and education in Washington County," Schultz said. "We truly appreciate their investment in our mission of helping students achieve their academic, career, and life goals and look forward to continuing our partnership with them."

The funds will be used for scholarship awards for eight deserving area high schools students and to fund an endowment established by SBSU for upper division students in DSC's Udvar-Hazy School of Business.

"The biggest thing for us is that we know how important education is to young people," Christensen said. "[SBSU] has been around for 53 years and we have built a reputation of being involved in the community, especially in supporting our area schools."
