Windows XP - RedStorm Wireless Configuration
Make sure you have all the latest updates, service packs, and drivers installed on your computer. Navigate to http://update.microsoft.com to install the latest updates for Windows XP.
1. Click the Start button, then open Control Panel

2. Click Switch to Classic View (If not already in Classic View)

3. Double click Network Connections

4. Double click Wireless Internet Connection
** You may need to physically enable a wireless switch on your laptop if the connection appears disabled.

5. Click Change advanced settings

6. Click the Wireless Networks tab

7. Make sure Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings is checked. Then click the Add button.

8. Type RedStorm (Case Sensitive) in the Network name (SSID) field.
9. Set Network Authentication to WPA2.
10. Set Data encryption to AES.
11. Then click on the Authentication tab.

12. Select Protected EAP (PEAP) on the EAP type drop-down menu
13. Make sure Authenticate as computer… is checked
14. Click the Properties button

15. Make sure Validate server certificate is checked
16. Make sure your settings match the settings below
17. Click the Configure button

18. Un-check Automatically user my Windows logon name and password…

19. Click OK on all of the open windows until they are all gone and your desktop is visible
20. A bubble should appear at the lower right hand corner of your screen. Click inside the bubble.

21. Enter your Dmail username and password in the Enter Credentials box. Leave the Logon domain blank.
** If you do not know your rebels username and/or password, see the lab assistant.

22. Click the 2nd bubble in the corner of your screen

23. Click OK

22. After a moment you will be connected to the RedStorm wireless network. If you still have trouble connecting, visit the student help desk in the Smith Computer Center.
