Policy: NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
7-12 NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
To assign the responsibility for the National Advisory Council.
12.2.1 The Office of Institutional Advancement, under the direction of the college president and an officer of Institutional Advancement, is responsible for the activities and programs of the Dixie State College National Advisory Council. Included in this assignment are the scheduling of meetings, preparing meeting agendas, keeping records, maintaining correspondence, providing responses to requests, and initiating liaison with other segments of the college.
12.2.2 The mission statement of the National Advisory Council is:
The National Advisory Council will support the long-term goals of Dixie State College by providing the administration with a diversified pool of resources and experiences. The council will use contacts, wisdom, and experience to:
126.96.36.199 Advise and assist the President of Dixie State College.
188.8.131.52 Conceive and implement ideas and projects for the advancement of the college.
184.108.40.206 Act as consultants and information sources and render advice on academic, administrative, and service activities.
220.127.116.11 Advise the college in connection with its financial and fiscal matters and to assist and support the Dixie State College Foundation and the college’s Endowment Fund.
18.104.22.168 Provide liaison among the college, alumni and friends.
22.214.171.124 Provide an opportunity to establish a permanent two-way process of communication between the college and leaders of the community.
12.3 The functions of the council are to:
12.3.1 Advise and work with the administration and assist the Board of Trustees of the college concerning all aspects of its objectives and programs.
12.3.2 Conceive, formulate, and implement projects for the advancement of the college that are specifically assigned by the administration and the Board of Trustees of the college.
12.3.3 Assist in improving the relationship between the college and its constituencies both within and outside the State of Utah.
12.3.4 Work with the administration and the Board of Trustees of the college in developing and establishing college policy for raising funds and implementing the programs necessary for the development and maintenance of the college's resources.
12.3.5 Provide counsel to the college for the investment of contributed funds whenever specifically requested by the administration, and
12.3.6 Support the objectives of any current campaigns with referrals of possible donors.
