7 - 11 VOLUNTEER SUPPORT GROUPS AND ADVISORY COMMITTEES
To outline approval procedures for the establishment of volunteer support groups and advisory committees for Institutional Advancement related work.
11.2.1 Any department, division, college, or other unit of Dixie State College that wishes to establish a "Friends," "Associates," "Advisors," or other such active support groups of volunteers to assist with public relations, fund-raising, and alumni relations programs will, before any volunteers are asked to serve, notify the Office of Institutional Advancement to ensure coordination and cooperation among college alumni and donors. The Office of Institutional Advancement will notify and receive written approval from the president of the college for the proposed appointments.
11.2.2 The Office of Institutional Advancement will maintain information and files on all such individuals to assist the various agencies when possible in such efforts.
11.2.3 A written report on the activities of each volunteer support group and advisory committee will be submitted by the appropriate agency each year to the college president.
11.2.4 Departments exploring the idea of forming advisory groups will determine program objectives, member responsibilities, terms of service, staff support, membership benefits, budgets, and printed materials in advance of the establishment of the group.
