7 - 10 FUND-RAISING VOLUNTEER AND STUDENT WORK-STUDY INVOLVEMENT

10.1 PURPOSE

To assign the responsibility for the selection, recruitment, and training of fund raising volunteers and student work-study personnel.

10.2 POLICY

10.2.1 The Office of Institutional Advancement is responsible for the selection and recruitment of volunteers and work-study students for Dixie State College fund-raising programs. The office is also responsible for training these individuals and for providing them with the information necessary in their solicitation efforts.

10.2.2 Before a volunteer or a work-study student is asked to become involved in a college project, his or her name will be submitted to and cleared by the Office of Institutional Advancement and the college president.

10.2.3 To avoid excessive use of volunteers in college development activities, the Office of Institutional Advancement will maintain a file of volunteers actively engaged in college programs and a file on individuals who are potential volunteers.

10.2.4 Work-study students and volunteers will not be given responsibility for accounting or receipting received funds. They will not have access to complete donor lists or confidential donor files.
