5-41 BUS SCHEDULING POLICY
41.1 Dixie State College buses are leased from a private carrier .
41.2 A "Bus Request Form" can be obtained from the vice president of student services.
41.2.1 The vice president's office will either confirm or deny bus availability.
41.3 A request for travel authorization must be attached to the bus request form verifying that funds are, or will be available from a specific budget or other source to pay the anticipated costs.
41.4 Bus usage costs may be obtained from the vice president of student services. Minimum charge is $200 per trip.
41.5 A fee of 10% of "Estimated Cost" (minimum of $20) may be levied if notice of cancellation is not received by the vice president of student services 24 hours prior to departure time.
41.6 Cost of damage to seats, interior of bus, windows, exterior, etc., by the group using the bus will be added to the total charge, after repairs have been completed and repair bills received.
41.7 Bus scheduling priority is as follows:
41.7.1 If the buses are scheduled 90 days or more in advance, the college will have priority for their use.
41.7.2 During the 90-day period, the college will be able to use the bus as time is available, not on a priority basis, so that other users and the college will be able to schedule on a first-come, first-served basis.
41.7.3 Primary use (with 30-day notice) is assigned to inter-collegiate athletics.
41.7.4 Secondary use (with 30-day notice) is assigned to instruction related trips.
41.7.5 Tertiary (third priority) use (with 30-day notice) is assigned to student organizations and clubs, activities, special events, etc.
