5-36 DISABLED STUDENT SERVICES

36.1 Dixie State College is committed to providing equal educational opportunity for all qualified students who have learning or physical disabilities.

36.2 Dixie's objective is to encourage program participation, provide program access, and deliver services to students with disabilities in the most integrated setting possible (in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act - 1990).

36.3 Students in need of special accommodations and auxiliary aids, or who have other needs related to their disabilities, are encouraged to utilize the support network available through the Academic Support Center. Personnel there work with individual teachers and school administrators to ensure that all reasonable accommodations are made to provide for a successful educational experience for each disabled student who enrolls at Dixie State College.

36.4 Student Discrimination Complaint Procedures

36.4.1 In the event that a student with a disability determines the college has failed to make reasonable accommodations for a documented disability, an appeal can be made through the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Coordinator.
