4-23 BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

Bereavement leave is made available for employees upon the death of an immediate family member, wife, husband, child, father, mother, stepchild, foster child, grandchild, grandparent, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law of employee.

23.1 Conditions

23.1.1 Leave without loss of pay may be granted to attend the funeral of a member of an individual's immediate family, if approved by the employee's immediate supervisor.

23.1.2 Such leave shall not be charged against sick or vacation leave.

23.1.3 Leave can be granted up to five working days.

23.1.4 Additional time in connection with the above may be charged against accrued vacation leave.

23.1.5 Bereavement Leave must be indicated by a "B" on the leave form (HR-L1) and the Recap Time Sheet.
