POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
WEBMASTER
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·
Provide
overall direction for the College’s web site. Responsible for the total quality
management of the site including evaluation of links and usability.
·
Work
with campus committees to make sure the College’s web site reflects the
College’s vision, mission and goals.
·
Promote
proper use of web standards and stay abreast of developing standards so that
College’s web pages are visually appealing and employ the latest formatting
techniques.
·
Design
and architect the College’s web site. Implement and maintain a content
management system to facilitate the web site development process.
·
Responsible
for accepting design and content of official site web projects.
·
Present
a consistent visual image on the College’s web site by promoting uniform fonts,
formatting, icons, images, layout techniques, and modularization, including
maintenance of HTML template and image archives.
·
Determine
appropriate compression techniques, resolutions, sizes, color maps, and depths
to insure that images – photographs and synthesized graphics – are delivered at
sufficiently high speed and quality for intended output media.
·
Design
and build web pages using a variety of graphic software applications, and
tools.
·
Configure
browsing parameters controlling file caching, font mapping, MIME awareness, and
application launching so that users’ browsing experiences are fluid, efficient
and productive.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s
degree in computer science or related field and 2 years experience.
·
Must
have a working knowledge of HTML, AJAX, and JavaScript, PHP and XML.
·
Ability
to develop forms and implement scripts in AJAX.
·
Capable
of the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of customer web
sites.
·
Must
know Photoshop and Illustrator CS!
·
Excellent
design skills and abilities. Content management skills and experience.
·
Ability
to produce quality content – editorial/writing skills.
·
Ability
to work with Mac, PC, and UNIX environments. Ability to manage the College’s
web site from a client as well as a server perspective.
·
Ability
to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, faculty
and staff.
·
Strong
written/verbal skills and must be able to communicate complex technology to
non-technical people.
Terms of Contract: Full time professional staff
position.
Salary negotiable dependent upon qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package.
