POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

MEDIA TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·        Provides technical support for Learning Management System via telephone, email and in-person to online learning students, staff and faculty.

·        Provides technical support for DSC students with wireless connectivity to our campus network.

·        Technical support for the IVC classrooms or mobile IVC systems with the classes and meetings being received and sent to and from the DSC campus.

·        Coordinates with Faculty and Staff to record their course materials and presentations with the Media site system.

·        Supports Media Technology Center: Assists faculty and staff in using hardware and software. Ensures equipment is operational.

·        Provides equipment and software which can be checked out by faculty and staff such as laptops, projectors and portable microphones.

·        Provides technical training workshops and one-on-one training for faculty and staff on use of distance educational tools.

·        Supervises the Audio/Visual Classrooms Coordinator and student hourly and work-study employees.

·        Provides technical assistance for the Instructional Design Technologist.

·        Supports collaborative software applications for online education

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·        Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Master’s degree preferred) and 2 years experience.

·        Working knowledge of software packages such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Breeze, Wimba, Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, Respondus, Respondus Lockdown Browser, Camtasia, Acrobat, and Keynote.  Current HTML and Web skills.  Expertise with operating systems (WIN & MAC).

·        Teaching ability, teaching and/or training experience and skills are essential.

·        Experience in developing online courses.

·        Extensive knowledge of computer systems: installation, configuration and maintenance.

·        Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and Blackboard Vista.

·        Excellent communications skills for mentoring faculty.

·        Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with staff, faculty, students and the public.

 

Terms of Contract:  Full time professional staff position. Salary negotiable dependent upon qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package.
