POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: LIBRARY
SYSTEMS MANAGER
Responsibilities:
·
Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the
integrated library systems.
·
Administer library Web pages.
·
Administer Instructional Library Systems.
·
Collaborate with work study student supervisor to train and supervise
work study students in implementing projects within computerized library
systems.
·
Work with Instructional Librarian to provide faculty library workshops
as assigned.
·
Keep current with library technology programs and Internet applications.
·
Maintain a good working relationship with technical support personnel on
campus to assure compatibility of library systems with campus systems.
·
Serve on campus and statewide committees as opportunities arise.
·
Participate in professional development and training workshops.
·
Responsible for the digitization process and project management.
·
Perform reference and help teach students within that setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
·
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
·
Considerable knowledge of computer hardware and software applications.
·
Considerable knowledge of computer networking, servers, database
management, and file sharing.
·
Experience with SirsiDynix, or other Integrated Library Systems.
·
Excellent organization, analytical, and computer problem-solving skills.
·
Considerable knowledge of Web page development and management.
·
Demonstrated experience in Integrated Library Systems.
·
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
·
Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, library science and
information retrieval methods.
·
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations within the
college community.
·
Ability to exercise tact in dealing with library patrons and campus
stakeholders on telephone or in person.
Terms of
Contract: Professional staff
position (12 months). Hiring salary range $42,500-$45,500,
dependent upon qualifications and experience.
