POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·        Interprets, implements and ensures compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies and procedures related to financial aid.

·        Develops budgets and oversees expenditures for financial aid and scholarship programs, as well as the financial aid/scholarship office budget.

·        Builds a strong Financial Aid team, and trains and develops financial aid personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.

·        Participates as a member of an Enrollment Management Team, and helps to create a financial aid strategy that promotes the institution’s enrollment goals.

·        Reviews financial aid files, verifies information for completeness and accuracy, awards financial aid, resolves discrepancies, and solves problems.

·        Coordinates and monitors electronic data entry, transmission, and records for financial aid transactions.

·        Advises students, faculty, parents, and staff regarding financial aid programs.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

·        Masters degree required.  Preference for educational background in business, student services, and/or higher education administration.

·        Five years of related experience.

·        Knowledge of college administration, and student financial aid programs and regulations.

·        Ability to analyze and manage financial resources.

·        Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the college community.

·        Preference for experience and knowledge of NCAA financial aid regulations.

·        Preference for strong computer skills, including knowledge of student database applications such as SCT’s Banner.

 

CONTRACT:  Full time (12 months) position.  Hiring Salary Range: $45,000 to $50,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience.  Excellent benefits.
