POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Position:            DEAN OF BUSINESS

 

Responsibilities:

·        Provides leadership in the teaching program of the college, including the maintenance of high quality teaching and student advisement activities, professional development activities, and the integration of the curricula within the college.

·        Provides leadership that will result in AACSB accreditation within a reasonable timeline.

·        Prepares budget requests for the college and, in cooperation with the institutional administration, allocates available funds among the various departments.

·        Recommends faculty to be employed in the college and recommends their duties, advancement in rank, and award of tenure.

·        Explores and develops interdisciplinary programs with other deans or administrators and recommends such programs to the administration.

 

Qualifications:

·        Doctorate degree is required in a discipline of the division.

·        Demonstrated AACSB accreditation experience with current AACSB international procedures and requirements.

·        Record of excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate with the preferable appointment as full professor.

·        A minimum of three years of progressively more responsible experience as an academic administrator is preferred.

·        Success in the generation of external funding (fund raising, grant writing) and in the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with businesses, donors, alumni, and others in the community.

·        Experience in curriculum development, program expansion, student recruitment and retention, faculty recruitment and development, and fiscal management.

·        Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with students, faculty, staff and administrators.

 

Terms of Contract:  Executive position, full-time (12 months).  Salary is nationally competitive.  Excellent benefit package (retirement contribution of 14.2% to TIAA/Cref, premium paid by college for family coverage medical, dental, life, and income protection plan; generous leave plan; flex benefit plan; and tuition benefits for employee and family).
