POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

 

FACULTY POSITION:        CHEMISTRY – TEMPORARY ONE YEAR APPOINTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Teach 30 credits of lecture and laboratory courses during 2008-2009 academic year.

·        Teach a range of chemistry courses from chemistry as a general education course through organic, analytical, and physical chemistry.

·        Attend department, division and faculty meetings, work with other faculty in program management, and adhere to college policies.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·        Master’s degree in Chemistry from an accredited college or university required; Doctorate degree preferred.

·        Some demonstration of successful teaching in the classroom and/or laboratory at the college level.

·        Ability to utilize computer software in your field as well as spreadsheets and word processing.

·        Above average written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

·        Willingness to work with and assist adjunct laboratory instructors.

·        An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff and administrators to develop ways to improve the educational experience of our students.

 

Terms of Contract:  Temporary faculty non-tenure track position for the 2008-2009 academic year (fall semester starts August 2008).  Salary is based on the Dixie State College faculty salary schedule.  Excellent  benefit package included.
