POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
FACULTY
POSITION: CHEMISTRY
Responsibilities:
·
Teach 27-30 credits of lecture and laboratory courses each
academic year.
·
Teach a range of chemistry and chemistry laboratory courses
associated with general chemistry coursework through organic chemistry.
·
Serve on college and departmental committees as assigned.
·
Advise students on general education
and discipline-specific requirements.
·
Attend department, division and
faculty meetings, work with other faculty in program management, and adhere to
college policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
·
Doctorate degree in
Chemistry from an accredited college or university required.
·
Demonstrated ability
of successful teaching and laboratory experience at the college level.
·
Interest and
expertise must be in classroom teaching and laboratory instruction, with an
inclination toward future research possibilities, especially undergraduates.
·
Ability to utilize
computer software in your field as well as spreadsheets and word processing.
·
Strong written,
verbal, and interpersonal skills.
·
Demonstrated ability
to teach laboratories and assist adjunct laboratory instructors.
·
An eagerness to
engage with colleagues, staff and administrators to develop ways to improve the
educational experience of our students.
Terms of Contract: Nine month faculty tenure track
position. Salary is based on the Dixie
State College faculty salary schedule.
