Student Success

View Student Success Initiative

Twice a semester, the Resident Assistants in Single Student Housing will be taking time to have a formal discussion with you about your goals, your experience, and your expectations about your time at Dixie State College. These discussions will be helpful to you as you go over these topics with your RA and formulate action plans for your success. The RA will be able to help you find resources across campus to point you in the direction of any assistance or opportunities to get involved at DSC.

Get Involved

“GET IN WHERE YOU FIT IN” – This advice is crucial for all students. Find a campus organization in which you can participate. This could be intramurals, a club related to your major, a church group, the pep band, or something as simple as attending campus events. Your college experience will be greatly enriched by your campus involvement. Studies show that students who are more involved are more likely to graduate. Who knows, if you find something you love you might actually have a good time doing it!

Leadership Opportunities in Housing

RESIDENT ASSISTANT SELECTION
If you think you might be interested in becoming an RA for the next academic year, the selection process begins early in the spring semester. In order to gain some leadership experience, it is suggested that individuals interested in becoming a RA become involved in Resident Life activities, including RHA. Your RA is your most valuable resource in learning about the RA position.

RHA – RESIDENCE HALL ASSOCIATION
RHA is the student organization for all on-campus residents. They are focused on improving the quality of life for all those who choose to live in on-campus housing. They accomplish this through activities, student advocacy, and representation for on-campus residents to other clubs and organizations. They represent DSC residents across campus, the intermountain region, and to other campus organizations nationally. If you are interested in participating in any way, attend their regularly scheduled meetings. Their meeting times are posted in the Resident Life building.
