Resident Life Handbook
Student Conduct Process
If a student is in alleged violation of a Resident Life Policy, he or she will be subject to the department’s student disciplinary procedures as follow:
- Students will have the right to a meeting to discuss the allegations and the right to refute the reported policy violations.
- Students will receive notice in writing prior to the date and time of the meeting.
- Resident Life student conduct meetings will be conducted by the Director of Housing or by a member of the staff at the director’s appointment. In the meeting, a student can be found responsible or not responsible for the alleged policy violation. If the student is found responsible, the administrator holding the meeting can assign appropriate sanctions.
- Sanctions will follow a progressive discipline model. However, the administrator can assign any level of sanction that is appropriate at any time. Possible sanctions for any policy violation can include: verbal warning, written warning, educational sanction, probation, or eviction.
