Contract Appeals Process

Contract Release Appeals Process

If, due to hardship, a student leaves single student housing, he or she may appeal the Housing Contract Appeals Committee for a release from the contract with reduced or no penalties or buy-out fee.

A letter of appeal must be submitted to the Director of Housing requesting an exemption and release from the terms of the contract. This letter should outline the nature of the hardship. Documentation should also be included with the request.

The Housing Contract Appeals Committee will convene as requests are made and will be comprised of members of the Resident Life Department and Campus Dining Services staff.

When the committee reaches its decision, the student will be notified in writing of the status of the exemption to policy.
