Choral Ensembles:

College Chorus (MUS 1250) A large ensemble, usually 100 singers, which performs choral repertoire in a variety of styles from Renaissance motets to Broadway tunes. Singers are expected to have high school choral experience. There is no audition required. May be repeated for credit.

Chamber Singers (MUS 1270)A small ensemble, usually 24 to 32 singers, that performs music from the Medieval period to vocal jazz. This is a selective group of highly motivated singers. Auditions are held during the first week of classes in the Fall Semester. Singers are expected to remain in the group for the entire school year. Those who are selected for the Chamber Singers are required to participate in the College Chorus or in the Women's Chorus as well. May be repeated for credit.

Women's Chorus(MUS 1280) An auditioned women's chamber ensemble. It is designed to give advanced choral/vocal training and performance opportunites for female singers. May be repeated for credit.

Southwest Symphonic Chorale (MUS 2250) A community-based ensemble which performs traditional choral repertoire including frequent performances of choral/orchestral works with the Southwest Symphony. May be repeated for credit.

Group Vocal Instruction (MUS 1730) Group instruction in basic singing technique including breathing, registration, vowel and consonant formation, sight singing, and overall coordination of the singing mechanism.
