Utah Campus Compact (UCC) Program

AmeriCorps UCC Program allows thousands of people in the U.S. the opportunity to serve their community and earn an education award. The main areas of service are Education, Public Health & Safety, or Community Strengthening.

How it works

  1. Apply through the AmeriCorps Service Coordinator.
  2. Choose from one of four terms of service.
  3. Engage in service activities and validate time through supervisor.
  4. Accumulate and complete your hours.
  5. Earn a service scholarship!!

How to qualify

  • Fill out an Application after completing an orientation with your AmeriCorps Coordinator
  • Be a US Citizen, US  National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien
  • Complete a Criminal Background Check (done by AmeriCorps Coordinator)
  • Be at least 17 years old
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED

Upon successful completion of a term of service, members are eligible to receive a UCC AmeriCorps Education Award. Terms of service range from 300 to 900 hours with awards ranging in value from approximately $1,400 to $3,500 per year.

How the award can be used

  • Past Qualified Loans (Financial Aid Loans)
  • Present Tuition Costs
  • Future Tuition for up to 7 Years
  • Can be used for any educational expense

How to earn service hours

At Dixie State College you can earn service hours through various community and education programs.
Current programs include:

  • Dental Hygiene
  • Nursing
  • Radiography
  • EMS
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Education
  • Student Government
  • And more...
