Stephen B. Armstrong grew up outside of Baltimore, Maryland. He earned his Ph.D. in English from Florida State University in 2004. His writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Film Quarterly, Film Score Monthly, Classic Images, Crime Time, Mystery Scene, and Las Vegas City Life. He is also the author of Pictures about Extremes: The Films of John Frankenheimer (McFarland, 2008). Currently, Armstrong is completing a documentary on the history of the film industry in Southern Utah called Return to Little Hollywood.
