Professional Experience
Dr. Comeford has been teaching at the college level for over seven years in a variety of subjects, both upper-division and lower-division courses. Her teaching experience ranges from Early British Literature to American Literature and much in between, including many writing courses. Dr. Comeford has presented her research at both regional and national conferences and her professional experiences have also included work as an editorial assistant and book review editor for the Ben Jonson Journal, currently published by Edinburgh University Press, and as assistant director of the UNLV Writing Center.
 
  
Specializations
 
Though she has many interests, Dr. Comeford's primary area of specialization is in American Civil War poetry and prose, particularly Herman Melville's Battle-Pieces and Aspects of the War. She has also conducted extensive research on George Herbert's poetry collection The Temple.

American Civil War Literature, Political Literature of the American National Period and the Nineteenth Century, Nineteenth-Century American Literature, 17th Century Metaphysical Poetry, Medieval Romance, Literary Theory, Popular Culture (particularly in the area of Joss Whedan's Angel, the Series and Buffy the Vampire Slayer; see http://slayageonine.com/ for more information about what is commonly known as Buffy Studies.)
