Theatre and CCS Policies
1. Performance Seating - All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Patron seating will begin a half hour prior to the performance. As a courtesy to the performers and audience members, latecomers will be admitted only at a break in the program, which may be at intermission. Reserved seating is guaranteed only until 7:55 p.m. Patrons are also requested to stay seated until a break in the program.

2. Membership Policy - Celebrity Concert Series offers same-seat renewal memberships in January for the following season. Upgrades and new memberships are accepted after March 15 until October 1 after which memberships are closed and individual concert tickets are available. Separate season tickets are required for the Evening at the Browning recitals.

3. Concert Etiquette Update - It is always a good time to be reminded of what it takes to be a good audience member. Reprinted below, by permission of Stagebill, Inc. NY, is a list of audience "Golden Rules" which has appeared time and again in various concert/opera programmes. Observance of these rules guarantees a more enjoyable evening at the opera or the concert hall.

Here's a refresher course. Please read on, and remember, part of one's pact as an audience member is to take seriously the pleasure of others, a responsibility fulfilled by quietly attentive (or silently inattentive) and self contained behavior. After all, you can be as demonstrative as you want during bows and curtain calls.
  1. Go easy with atomizer; many people are highly allergic to perfume and cologne.
  2. If you bring a child, make sure etiquette is part of the experience. Children love learning new things.
  3. Unwrap all candies and cough drops before the curtain goes up or the concert begins.
  4. Make sure beepers and watch alarms are OFF. And don't jangle the bangles.
  5. The overture is part of the performance. Please cease talking at this point.
  6. Note to lovebirds: When you lean your heads together, you block the view of the person behind you. Leaning forward also blocks the view.
  7. THOU SHALT NOT TALK, or hum, or sing along, or beat time with a body part.
  8. Force yourself to wait for a pause or intermission before rifling through a purse, backpack, or shopping bag.
  9. Yes, the parking lot gets busy and getting home is tricky, but leaving while the show is in progress is discourteous.
  10. The old standby: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  11. Applause is held until after a complete composition work and not given between movements. Candy wrappers, hearing aid buzz, whispers and humming along with the artist is distracting, at best, to other patrons.
4. Best Dress Requested... We are bringing you the highest quality performance and ask that you enhance the occasion by dressing appropriately. Best dress is kindly requested for all events.

5. Cameras and Cassette and Videotape Recorders - Cameras and recorders are not permitted in the performance halls unless written permission is given by performers and Cox Auditorium personnel.

6. Restrooms are located on the west side, top floor of the Cox Auditorium building. Those located near the stage are for artist performers only.

7. Parking
- is available on 700 East in front of the Cox Performing Arts Theater and in back of the theater east of the tennis courts. Additional parking south of the Avenna complex near the swimming pool or north of the complex in front of Dixie State College gymnasium. Unfortunately several events may be in progress at Dixie State College on the same night. Please allow plenty of time to find parking so you won't have to wait for a break in the performance to be seated.

8. Ticket Office - individual concert tickets may be purchased Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Event tickets may be purchased after October for any CCS concert.

9. Wheelchair-Accessible Seating - is located on rows D-E and is convenient to the elevator located at the far end of the west hall wing. Additional wheelchair seating is on both sides of row Y at the back of the theater. Some wheelchair sites are reserved season memberships - please check at ticket window for additional information.

10. Donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Donors are listed in the printed programs and become members of the Southwest Guild for the Performing Arts, a CCS financial support organization. Donations are processed through Dixie State College Development office to assure tax deductible status. Or click here for donation information

11. Volunteers are greatly needed and appreciated. Call our office for information.
