CCS Guild
The CCS Guild
The CCS Guild is a volunteer council whose purpose is to support, strengthen and promote Celebrity Concert Series. We strive to bring people together to share ennobling artistic experiences and to help the Series thrive. The Guild board is driven by the conviction that the arts are for everyone and to ensure that a broad population has access and exposure to the world’s finest performances. Take advantage now--become a member of the Guild and assure the continuing success of Southern Utah's foremost performing arts organization.
You may be unaware that ticket sales provide less than half the revenue necessary to fund the Series and its associated Youth Programs and educational outreach efforts. A broad base of support from foundations, local businesses, and individuals is vital to maintaining the extraordinary level of artistic excellence and its accessibility to the community. We invite you to examine the opportunities and benefits of partnering with Celebrity Concert Series. Together we can make our series grow stronger.
Donations - If you like what you see, please don't hesitate to lend your support.
Become a member of the Guild now and secure the future success of the Series. We are grateful for your support. Annual artist fees alone range from $110,000 to $130,000 each season and increase annually; marketing, technical, and printing costs are additional. Although Dixie State College is a partner with Celebrity Concert Series, it does not provide an operating budget or direct money to the Series, and the Series must, therefore, be self-supporting.

Membership Deadlines for the 2008-2009 Season. Concerts beginning October 2008 will be announced in January 2008. Current season members will have priority to renew or upgrade seats until March 15. New members will be welcomed after March 15, 2008, on a first come, first served basis.
What to Wear . Dress codes are not enforced at Celebrity Concert Series ... we want our audience members to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. Nicer dress pants, dresses, etc., are appropriate and preferred.
Latecomers. Please plan to arrive early. Latecomers will not be admitted to the auditorium until there is a suitable break such as after the first work or first movement of a concerto or symphony has ended. Do not attempt to find your allocated seat while artists are performing. This is disruptive to audience and performers alike. Instead, please wait in the corridor. We cannot guarantee seat availability after 7:25 pm.
Electronic Devices. Please turn off hand phones, pagers, digital watch chimes and other noise makers or put them on silent mode before the concert begins. After the concert begins there should be no noise. Please do not unwrap candies or cough drops during a performance.
Applause. There are many occasions to applaud in a concert. When the orchestra's concertmaster enters, applaud gently. When the conductor and soloist enter, applaud more vigorously. It is considered inappropriate to applaud between movements of a symphony or concerto. Look at the printed program before the music begins to see how many movements are being presented - or watch for the conductor to turn around and bow. A concert pianist will lower his/her hands to indicate the end.
During a ballet performance, or an opera, applause is appropriate and appreciated after a particularly demanding solo or duet segment. At the end of the performance, if your enjoyment goes beyond applause, you may shout “Bravo!” “Encore!” or accord the performers a standing ovation. Standing ovations should be given only after the most superlative of performances.
Ticket Office. Single performance tickets are available after October 1, 2007 and may be purchased at the Cox Ticket Office at 445 South 700 East or by calling 435.652.7800. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards are accepted.
Restrooms are located on the main floor off the west hallway in the Cox Auditorium building. Restrooms located on the lower floor are for the artists only.
Parking is available on 700 East in front of the Cox Performing Arts Center and in back of the theater east of the tennis courts. Additional parking is available south of the Avenna complex near the swimming pool and north of the complex in front of DSC gymnasium. Unfortunately several events may be in progress on the same night, so please allow ample time to find parking.
Wheelchair Accessible Seating is located on both sides of row Y in the rear of the auditorium. Please check at the ticket office for availabilities.
Donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Donors are listed in the printed programs and become members of the CCS Guild. Donations are processed through the Dixie State College Development Office to assure tax deductible status.
Emergency. In the event of an emergency, please walk to the nearest exit and listen to information given by managers. Look for the green exit signs and proceed accordingly. Auditorium building doors may be reached through the doors located at the top and bottom of each corridor. Please identify the exit closest to your location.
Courtesy Reminders. Please go easy on the personal fragrances; some people have allergic reactions to them and others are simply annoyed. Refrain from talking and from unwrapping noisy candy wrappers during the performance. Do not take flash photographs. It is distracting to the artist and other patrons and it is against the law. If you must leave before the end of a performance, please wait until there is a break in the music or until intermission. Please inquire at the ticket office to learn if children under the age of five years are allowed to specific performances. Generally young children become restless and disruptive in a concert hall.
Community Services. Many of the artists who perform on the Celebrity Concert Series give outreach services in the community in the form of mini-concerts, master classes, workshops, seminar demonstrations and scholarship tickets to performances. These services are available to adults as well as elementary, secondary and college students. For more information on residencies offered this season, please contact the CCS office.
