Computer Specifications

 
In order to access your online courses properly, students will need to have access to the following equipment:

• Windows Machine
  Students must have access to a PC that has at least a 2 GHz processor.
  A minimum of 2GB of RAM, 5 GB free memory and Windows Vista/7/8
• Macintosh
  Students using Macintosh computers must have access to a
  Mac with a 2 GHz or higher processor.
  A minimum of 2 GB of RAM, 5 GB free memory and Operating System X or higher.

 

 

Internet Access with browser

Students will further need to have access to at least a 1 Mbps Internet speed,
we STRONGLY recommend a faster DSL or Cable Broadband.

Computer Drivers

Students must have the up-to-date computer drivers listed below. The Drivers are FREE downloads.

• JAVA
• FLASH PLAYER
• QUICKTIME PLAYER
• WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
• SILVERLIGHT
• MICROSOFT OFFICE COMPATIBILITY PACK
• REAL PLAYER
• ADOBE ACROBAT READER
• POWERPOINT VIEWER  (Powerpoint Viewer is only needed for those who do not have the Powerpoint program)

 

 

Pop-up blockers must be disabled, Canvas works with and uses pop-ups.

We strongly recommend you having a virus scan program for your computer, this will help with detecting any viruses or worms that might effect Canvas from running properly on your computer.

Spyware & Adware worms have become a really big problem with online students, we recommend that you download a FREE removal program to make sure your system is clean and worm free.
