WHAT IS AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE?

An Associate Degree is generally a two-year degree, the completion of which prepares college students for Bachelor Degree programs.  Students who earn an Associate of Science (AS) or Associate of Arts (AA) from Dixie State College have completed lower division general education requirements for a Bachelorís Degree at any Utah college or university that grants Bachelors Degrees. Talk to your advisor when selecting your general education classes.

WHAT ARE GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS?

All degrees have a general education component. General education classes provide opportunities for students to explore new areas while improving communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. This exploration is a critical component of the college experience.  General educations courses often include Math, Science, Composition, Literature, Social Sciences, Computer Literacy, Humanities, History, Fine Arts, and many more interesting subject areas.
