About Nutrition, Foods & Wellness (NFW)

The nutrition, foods and wellness program is based on the concept of developing wellness through appropriate nutrition, food and life style choices, and provides preparation for transfer to a university program.  Possible professional outcomes include registered dietitian, county extension agent, and a variety of health occupational opportunities including consultant in various health institutions and organizations as well as other community, national and international health applications.

What can I do at Dixie State to prepare myself to major in NFW?

Students wishing to transfer to a four year institution and continue toward a degree in nutrition, food science or dietetics should pursue an Associate of Science Degree at Dixie State while also taking the following NFW preparation courses.  NOTE:  Students should contact an advisor at the institution where they wish to pursue their Bachelor Degree in order to confirm the prerequisites for the program.
